ShorelinesThere is approximately 90,000 miles of lakeshores in Minnesota and another 138,000 miles of shoreline along rivers and streams. Each shoreline has their own natural protection that was designed by nature and developed over thousands of years. Human impact on these shorelines has created a unique ecological challenge. This challenge is to protect our water quality through proper shoreline stabilization techniques while still allowing for recreational use and water access. The runoff and sedimentation created by human development within our watersheds has formed a serious need for ecological protections. Buffer systems can help enhance our water quality through filtering and controlling runoff.
We have extensive experience restoring shorelines and protecting our lakes and streams using our high quality seed and plant material which has proven very useful to our customers’ needs. Our knowledge of hydrology, sediment control, native plant communities and their function allow us to be efficient and effective for our customers. We use innovative installation techniques including bioengineering, erosion control, vegetation installation and management. Our time tried and proven techniques allow us to be efficient and effective for our customers.
We know that every project is personal and will create unique experiences. Our staff has been selected because of their knowledge and passion for the restoration of our native landscapes. MNL ecologists have the knowledge and experience needed to assess your site and determine the most ecologically appropriate plan to reach your project goals and implement that plan. All along we will keep in mind your recreation and personal use as well as the ecological function of protecting your water body.
