People often wonder and ask about our unique logo. Minnesota was originally
home to three distinct biomes, or ecological regions. At the time of
the original public land survey in the State of Minnesota in the 1800s
notes were taken on the original vegetation that existed throughout
the state. After all of this data was compiled and mapped out three
different biomes were recognizable.
We use the Northern Tallgrass Prairie, Northern Coniferous
Forest and Eastern Deciduous Forest biomes as guidelines
when planning restoration projects to determine what is appropriate.
