Seed as your budget will allow at a rate of.......3 to 4 lbs. bulk/acre
Suggested rate/1,000 square feet.................................1 to 1½ oz.

Note: The baseline flower mix above is a relatively inexpensive mix that is made up of mostly early successional species that will produce a profusion of flowering plants quickly, usually by the second full growing season. Additional species listed below will enhance the look of your project long term and make your design resemble more closely a true native plant community. Please consider adding some of these beauties if your budget will allow. For every ounce of seed added to the baseline mix, reduce the baseline mix rate by a like amount.

SPECIES THAT ARE AVAILABLE AND RELATIVELY AFFORDABLE THAT
CAN BE ADDED TO INCREASE DIVERSITY OF THE BASELINE MIX

Great St. John's wort (Hypericum pyramidatum)
Great blue lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica)
Mountain mint (Pycnanthemum virginianum)
Riddell’s goldenrod (Solidago riddellii)
Compass plant (Silphium perfoliatum)
Ironweed (Vernonia fasciculata)
