Minnesota Native Landscapes can help you with that portion of your
property or project that is too wet to do anything else with. Wet meadows
can be established on areas that sustain saturated soils at or near
the surface throughout most of the growing season. Wet meadow species
contain several species that fall into the wet prairie classification,
but also can host a variety of species associated with wetland plant
communities. Wet meadows are often considered treeless areas, made up
mainly of grasses, forbs and sedges. Wet meadows can be very diverse
ranging in height from low, inconspicuous ground covers, to magnificent
species reaching heights of over four feet such as Ironweed (Vernonia
fasciculata).
